Your donation will help cover the fees for educational institutions and community organizations to stream the film to audiences, contributing to a critical national and local dialogue about the arts, youth education, and community.
RIVER CITY DRUMBEAT is the powerful and uplifting documentary about Louisville, Kentucky’s River City Drum Corp, and how the power of music, love, and legacies sustains a creative community of mentors, parents, and youth making their way in a world where systemic forces raise obstacles to fulfilling their dreams. This story of cultural connection and determination, as told by the members of the drum corps, offers inspiration and hope to American audiences at an incredibly challenging time in its history.
With your support, RIVER CITY DRUMBEAT can increase public awareness and energy around the benefits of arts education and youth programs for all children by reaching the widest possible audience in small towns and big cities. RIVER CITY DRUMBEAT can be used as a cinematic case study for prioritizing arts education and cultural connection in marginalized communities, and be of value to mentors, educators, parents and youth, and the organizations that serve them.
Your contribution will support streaming the film to individuals, high schools, libraries, colleges, universities, and community organizations nationwide. It will also support virtual Zoom Q&A conversations with film participants and filmmakers!
